The Profile of Dr. Dipanjan Panda Dr. Dipanjan Panda currently serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Medical Oncology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. With a career spanning over two decades, he has established himself as an astute clinician and a dedicated academic leader.

Education and International Research Dr. Panda’s medical journey began at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. After completing his DM in Medical Oncology, he pursued a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship at Brigham & Women Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts, USA. This international exposure in Boston allowed him to integrate advanced molecular research into clinical cancer management.

A Legacy of Innovation In 2011, Dr. Panda joined the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), where he was instrumental in building the Medical Oncology department from the ground up. His most notable contribution to Indian medicine is the creation of the country’s first dedicated Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Oncology unit and the initiation of the PDCC course in HPB oncology.

Professional Memberships & Publications He is a respected member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). With over 20 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals, he remains a key contributor to oncological literature and serves as a reviewer for Hepatology International.

Before joining IAH he was working as Associate Professor and head of the department of Medical Oncology at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences which is an autonomous super speciality institute under Govt of NCT of Delhi.

Dr Panda had his oncology training from All India institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) New Delhi which is one of the premier medical institutes in this part of the world. After completing his fellowship (DM) in medical oncology He took post-doctoral research fellowship at Brigham & Women hospital, Harvard medical school, Massachusetts, USA, from where he later transitioned to faculty position in India.

He joined Institute of Liver & Biliary sciences in the year 2011 where he was credited with starting the medical oncology department. He was also credited with starting the first dedicated Hepato-Pancreato- Biliary (HPB) Oncology unit in the country and also staring a PDCC course in HPB oncology.

Dr Panda is an astute clinician as well as dedicated academician. He has about 20 publications in different peer reviewed national and international journal till date besides presenting innumerable lecture at various national and international conferences. He is a member of American society of clinical oncology and European society of medical oncology and reviewer of hepatology international.

He is also the co-ordinator cum advisor of the DNB teaching programme for the department of medical oncology.
